Originally based in North Carolina, Spin City Productions was established November 23, 2016 by legendary barber icon, Ron “Spin City” Spencer. Spin City Production’s goal is to seamlessly change the dynamic & rhetoric of the Barbering industry. Society has rebuked the idea of barbering as a negative thing or a profession that isn’t favorable when in reality it’s more to it than “cutting hair.” Did you know that barbering is one of world’s oldest and most honorable profession, with a rich history. Trichology (medical term for barbering) is the study of the hair and scalp. The word “trichology” stems from the Greek word, ‘Trikhos’, meaning ‘hair’. It became a specific para-medical discipline in 1902.

     Today, trichology is perceived as the “bridge between barbering and dermatology.” In the Middle Ages, barbers also treated wounds and performed surgery, they created ointments, and could preform dentistry. Spin City Productions is here to change the rhetoric from Barbering back to Trichology by educating our clientele and offering the latest & immaculate services.

     The evolution of Spin City Productions was one of inevitability as Mr. Spencer began to garner unprecedented success in the craft, immediately becoming an independent barber free from the bindings of any promotional or managerial contracts dedicating his life to the art of Barbering. All of the costs associated with assembling such a broad organization were funded by the revenues amassed by his own hard work and dedication to succeed behind the chair and beyond.
     As Spin City Productions continues its ascension, there are no plans to take our foot off the gas anytime soon. Spin City Productions is poised to break more records, generate more revenue, and chase excellence as it incrementally solidifies itself as the past, present & future of barbering.
